All efforts seemed to have been in vain after a number of years of negotiation with RTV, the national station of Guinea. The local contact in Guinea told us earlier this year that he no longer had any confidence in it.

85% of Guinea is Muslim. So it is not the easiest country to broadcast Christian programs there. At the beginning of this year there was an opening when a contract could be offered to the director of RTG. Now, a number of months later, 3xM was pleasantly surprised with good news. In the meantime the first program has been broadcasted and viewer responses have come in.

The program ‘Miel Mortel’ (Deadly Honey) has already had great impact in other African countries. The impact of HIV/Aids education, which aims at change of lifestyle, was not only the immediate cause for the approval of RTG, but also for a subsidy to be able to broadcast for a year.
